Funeral Arrangements Made for Fallen APD Helicopter OfficersCascade Patch

Funeral arrangements have been made for Officer Richard J. Halford and Officer Shawn A. Smiley, Atlanta Police officers who died Saturday night when the helicopter they were riding in crashed on a northwest Atlanta street.

Memorial funds have also been set up in honor of the officers and to assist family members with expenses, both immediate and long-term.

Former Boxer Dies in Shooting Incident - Dunwoody Patch

A former pro boxer was wanted in Dunwoody for false imprisonment and battery related to incidents with his wife; a woman police say shot and killed him early Tuesday, according to the AJC.

Earnest Mahir Abdul-Mateen, who fought under the name Ernest Mateen, retired in 2006 with a 30-12 record and a decorated history.

Former Head of Investor Relations at Children’s Clothing Company Indicted on Insider Trading ChargesRoswell Patch

A Roswell man who formerly headed investor relations for a major children's clothing company was indicted on conspiracy, securities and wire fraud in multi-state insider trading schemes.

Eric M. Martin, 42, of Roswell, former head of investor relations for Carter’s Inc., was charged by a federal grand jury Nov. 7 in connection with multi-year, multi-state insider trading schemes primarily involving Carter’s stock.
