Atlanta Police arrested a burglary suspect who led them on a foot chase across Highway 400 before running into an empty room at a nearby Buckhead hotel around noon.
Zone 2 officers responded to an audible alarm at a residence on Pinetree Road when they noticed a man riding on a bike in the area of two recent burglaries. The biker fled from police, running on foot across Highway 400 and into a room being cleaned at Country Inn Suites in Buckhead on Piedmont Road.
Couple Found Dead in Home – Smyrna Patch
Smyrna police are investigating the double shooting death of a Smyrna couple that occurred late Wednesday.
Authorities said William Whitaker, 44, and his wife Lynn Whitaker, 48, were found dead by their 25-year-old son at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in their townhouse on Cumberland Valley Drive.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident was the result of a domestic dispute.
Multi-State Pickpockets Sought – Douglasville Patch
Police are searching for two pickpockets wanted for questioning in Florida and Georgia.
The suspects enter Hobby Lobby stores where the male steals wallets while the female distracts the victim, according to the Douglas Sheriff's Facebook page. The stolen credit cards are often immediately used in nearby stores.
