Prince Avenue Advances to Finals; Double Elimination for Monroe Teams

The Monroe Area and George Walton Academy seasons come to an end after playoff losses on the road.

 

 

The Prince Avenue Christian School Wolverines play on after defeating Landmark Christian Academy, 32-22. The Wolverines advance to the Class -A finals next week.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports the Wolverines will face Eagles Landing Christian at the Georgia Dome in a bid for the state title on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

The Purple Hurricanes' season ended last night in Tyrone. Sandy Creek plays on after handing the 'Canes a 0-35 loss in the state semifinals. Still, the players and coaches have no reason to hang their heads after an extremely successful year. The team finishes with an overall season record of 12-2.

The story was the same down in Stockbridge last night, as George Walton Academy's Bulldogs fell to Eagle's Landing Christan Academy by a score of 14-27 in the Class-A (private school division) quarterfinals. The Bulldogs finish with a respectable 9-4 record for the season.
