Pickup Backs Over Fuel Line, Causes a Ruckus
An Athens, Ga., man is charged with DUI after the incident at Murphy's USA near the Epps Bridge Walmart.
A Ford pickup drove over a gasoline vapor line at the Murphy's gas station near the Epps Bridge Parkway Walmart on Saturday, causing concerns of an explosion and tying up the parking lot, according to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page.
The line was used to pump fuel from a tanker truck to the underground gas tanks, according to the Sheriff's Office. Oconee County Fire Rescue and Wilson's Wrecker Service removed the pickup and secured the line.
The pickup's driver was arrested on DUI charges. The Athens Banner-Herald identified the driver as 72-year-old Charles Griffith of Athens.
