The September First Friday on Main Street in Watkinsville featured an educational puppet show entitled "Dr. Dinosaur" by That Puppet Guy Lee Bryan, courtesy of Oconee State Bank.

Kids also enjoyed karate demonstrations, face painting and jumping on giant bouncy balls at Georgia Karate Academy.  New Life Apostolic Church handed out free teddy bears and Johnson United Methodist Church members made balloon hats.

Ice cream, provided by the North Georgia Two Cylinder Club, was also a big hit, as was freshly-popped popcorn from the City of Watkinsville.

The monthly event, from May to December each year, is sponsored by the Watkinsville Trade and Tourism Association.
