Padlock Pried off Building on Barnett Shoals Road

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville, Ga. police department.

Watkinsville Police took a report Saturday morning that someone had broken into the empty concrete block building at 28 Barnett Shoals Road.

Someone had pried a padlock off a side door, according to a news release from Police Chief Lee O'Dillon. The building's owner advised that nothing seemed to be missing.

In the news release, O'Dillon also noted the following incidents:

  • At 11:56 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, police were called to the Watkinsville Post Office parking lot after a 2008 Subaru Outback exited a parking space and bumped a mail delivery truck.  No one was injured and damage was minor.
  • At 11:30 Saturday morning, Dec. 8, police were dispatched to a Jackson Street address concerning an ongoing child visitation dispute. The custodial parent would not allow court ordered visitation. A contempt of court situation may be forthcoming. Both sides were contacting their lawyers.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 28 calls within city limits between Dec. 2- 9, 2012.
