One Minor Injury After 2-Car Accident in Watkinsville
The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville police department. Arrests that are reported do not indicate a conviction.
In his weekly press release, Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending May 29.
- Officers responded to a two-car traffic accident on Experiment Station Road near the Oconee County Library around 2:30 p.m. on May 24. One person had a minor injury, O'Dillon said, and one of the drivers was cited with following too closely.
- The line of heavy thunderstorms that passed through Watkinsville on May 26 knocked out power and blew down tree limbs, O'Dillon said. Some minor damage to structures occurred, but no injuries and no traffic accidents were reported.
- On May 27, Deanna L. Denton, 25, of Colham Ferry Road, was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane, O'Dillon said.
- Following a traffic stop on May 28, Elaine Harwood, 40, of Madison, was charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding, and expired tag, O'Dillon reported.
Watkinsville police responded to a total of 33 calls within city limits between Monday, May 23 and Sunday, May 29, O'Dillon said.
