Oconee Today -- Sept. 7

Art exhibits, First Friday and high school football are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

 

Weather: Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 90s today.  The Weather Channel predicts a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Top things to know:

  • Perspectives: Georgia Pottery Invitational continues at OCAF and Rocket Hall today.  Stop by between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to see more that 5,000 pieces by 49 artists across the state.
  • 13 Years of Heaven and Hell, featuring art, photo and stories by Chris Hubbard, is currently on display at Farmington Depot Gallery. The gallery is open Wednesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Kids will enjoy a free puppet show at Oconee State Bank during First Friday on Main, sponsored by the Watkinsville Trade and Tourism Association.  Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and the show is scheduled for 6:45 p.m., according to The Oconee Enterprise.
