Oconee Today -- Sept. 6

The United Way Kick-off event for Oconee County takes place during the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce After Hours. See what else there is to know.

 

Weather: We'll see a 30 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms, most likely in the afternoon.  The Weather Channel predicts high temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s.

Top things to know:

  • This month's Oconee County Chamber of Commerce After Hours event doubles as the United Way Kick-Off event for Oconee County. CertusBank hosts the event from 5:15-7 p.m.
  • Ever want to learn how to bellydance? Floorspace Movement Arts Studio offers Bellydance Basics at 5:45 p.m. for beginners and 7 p.m. for intermediate dancers. Cost is $12 per class.
  • Library Crew is a special volunteer opportunity for 9 to 12-year-olds to help maintain the library and assist with craft projects. Library Crew meets on the first Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Oconee County Library.
  • It's Spirit Night! A percentage of this evening's sales at Sonic on Atlanta Highway will be donated to Rocky Branch Elementary School.
