Weather: The Weather Channel is calling for party cloudy skies today with a high near 82 degrees. Ten percent chance of rain throughout the day, with a UV Index in the very high range at 9.

Top things to know:

  • The Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens hosts Home School Science from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesdays. Students that attend will explore interactive learning stations and more. The classes cost $4 for ACC residents and $6 for non-county residents. Contact 706-613-3615 for more information.
  • The Oconee County Library hosts Once Upon a Time Story Time. This special story time is for children ages two to five and begins at 10 a.m. and again at 11 a.m.
  • September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, children ages 0 to 11 who sign up for a library card through the Oconee County Library will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins. Contact 706-769-3950 for more information.
