Oconee Today -- Sept. 10

A fundraiser in a neighboring city will raise money for the family of Hannah Rinehart, who passed away last week after battling a bacterial infection.

 

Weather: The work week starts out with mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 82 degrees, according to the Weather Channel's forecast.  The overnight low will be 59.

Top things to know:

  • Children and their caretakers are invited to a free Storytime session evey Monday at Learning Express Toys inside the Georgia Square Mall. It begins at 10:30 a.m.
  • The Oconee County Board of Education holds a work session at 4:30 p.m. To see the draft of the meeting's agenda, click here.
  • The Oconee County Association of Educators will discuss the charter schools amendment on the November ballot at its 6:30 p.m. meeting at the Oconee County Library. 
  • Texas Roadhouse in Snellville is holding a fundraiser in honor of Hannah Rinehart, who passed away from a bacterial infection on Sept. 5. Ten percent of sales between 4-10 p.m. will be donated to her husband, Mark Rinehart, to help with medical expenses.
