Oconee Today -- Oct. 9

Today is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 General Election.

 

Weather: We'll see mainly cloudy skies today, according to the Weather Channel.  The high is expected to be 71 degrees. Lows overnight will be in the low 50s.

Top things to know:

  • If you aren't yet registered to vote, visit the Oconee County Board of Elections Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  You must register by 5 p.m. in order to vote in the upcoming Nov. 6 General Election.  You can fill out an application online, but it must be printed out and turned into the local Elections Office.
  • Join the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce ambassadors for a ribbon cutting at Dana Kerr - State Farm starting at 10 a.m.  It is located at 1220 Langford Drive.
  • During the Oconee County Board of Commissioners' meeting this evening, there will be a presentation of the National 4-H Week Proclamation and recognition of State Congress participants.  The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the courthouse. The complete draft of the agenda attached as a pdf.
