Oconee Today -- Oct. 8

Happy Saturday!

Weather: The weekend gets off to a start with sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 70 to low 80s. Overnight, expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the low 50s.

Top Things to Know About:

  • Oconee County Library is the place to be for A Day with Expert Bob Davis, a free seminar on using Court, Estate and Deed Records to begin your Civil War research.  The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and is sponsored in part by the Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society.
  • A cleanup at Harris Shoals Park and Calls Creek takes place from 9 -11 a.m.  Volunteers are asked to meet at the park.  "It is always a rewarding experience, complete with a sense of “giving back,"' Watkinsville Mayor Joe Walter said.
  • In celebration of American Craft Week, Farmington Depot Gallery artists will be demonstrating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
