Oconee Today -- Oct. 22

The Oconee County Relay for Life Kickoff and final presidential debate are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

 

Weather: Sunshine and highs in the upper 70s are in today's Weather Channel forecast. There's little to no chance of rain this week.

Top things to know:

  • Michael Moore, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, and Dan Silk, UGA Police Department, are scheduled to speak at UGA's Tate Student Center about Terrorism Prevention and Prosecution.  The lecture will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Reception Hall.
  • The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oconee County Kickoff event takes place from 6- 8 p.m. at the Oconee County Civic Center. Register a team and learn more about the March 22, 2013 event. See more.
  • A free teen driving safety seminar for parents presented by Open Road Driver Services takes place from 6-8 p.m.  All attendees will receive discount coupons for upcoming driver's education and defensive driving courses for their teens.
  • Patch will be live streaming the third and final presidential debate, and we want you to join in the online discussion. Check back later just before the 9 p.m. debate gets under way.
