Oconee Today -- Oct. 12

A ribbon-cutting ceremony, a free family fun day, and high school football games are a few of the things to know in and around Oconee today.

 

Weather: The work week comes to a close with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.  The National Weather Service predicts wind gusts could reach up to 15mph.

Top things to know:

  • Oconee County Schools teachers join students for a day off for Fall Break.  Classes resume on Monday.
  • The new RaceTrac on Monroe Highway opens its doors today.  A ribbon cutting takes place at 10:30 a.m. and will feature a performance by members of the NOHS Titan Regiment.  See more.
  • Dunkin' Donuts hosts a free family fun day from 3-5 p.m.  Ziggy the Clown will be on hand for face painting, balloon art and more.

  • NOHS welcomesFranklin County
  • OCHS travels to Hart County
  • PACS hosts Commerce
  • Athens Academy heads to Pinecrest Academy

*Kick off for all games is 7:30 p.m.
