Oconee Today -- Oct. 10

A new area grocery store opens, libraries hosts Storytimes and the OCHS Lady Warrior softball team heads to round one of the state tournament.

 

Weather:  We'll see a high of 75 degrees today and mostly sunny skies.  The Weather Channel predicts overnight lows to dip into the mid to upper 40s.

Top things to know:

  • It's opening day for the Fresh Market in Athens on Alps Road.  Starting at 9 a.m. there will be samples and specials in celebration. See more.
  • The Oconee Library hosts a free storytime for little ones ages 2-5 every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. 1080 Experiment Station.  The Bogart Library also offers a Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
  • MBMS and OCMS football teams go head to head in an intracounty contest at OCHS.  The game begins at 5 p.m. and admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students.
  • OCHS softball team heads to Ft.Oglethorpe, Ga. for the first round of the state tournament.  The game starts at 5 p.m. Go Lady Warriors!
  • Wednesday night is Trivia Night at Your Pie Watkinsville.  It begins at 7:30 p.m.
