Oconee Today -- Nov. 12

Two educators will be inducted into the Oconee County Schools Hall of Fame during a meeting of the Board of Education. See what else there is to know in and around Oconee County.

 

Weather: Mostly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 70s are in today's Weather Channel forecast.

Top things to know:

  • Though Veterans Day was Sunday, the federal holiday is observed today.  Post offices and federal government buildings are closed.
  • The Oconee County Industrial Development Authority meets at 4 p.m. in the grand jury room of the courthouse.  The agenda is attached as a pdf.
  • Roger Bailey and Martha Brodrick will be inducted into the Oconee County Schools Hall of Fame during a meeting this afternoon.  It begins at 5 p.m. and the public is invited. See the agenda here.
  • Athens-Oconee families of kids with down syndrome are invited to a networking group at Faith Presbyterian Church from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • The UGA men's basketball team hosts Youngstown State at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $15.
