Local students hold a benefit concert to raise money and awareness for vital clean water projects in Africa. See what else there is to know about in and around Oconee today.

 

 

Weather: The Weather Channel predicts plenty of sunshine will close out the work week with a high of 81 degrees. Expect mostly clear skies overnight and lows in the upper 50s.

Top things to know:

  • Voting for this week's Readers' Choice -- favorite staycation destination in Oconee County -- closes at 9 a.m. Cast your vote now.
  • Vince Dooley visit the UGA Bookstore to sign copies of his book "History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia" from 3- 5:30 p.m. 
  • At Colham Ferry Elementary this evening, "Teachers Take the Stage" to raise money for the school by dressing up and performing popular songs.  It begins at 6 p.m.
  • North Oconee boys' soccer hosts GAC in the quarterfinals of the AA state tournament at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7.  Best of luck, Titans!
  • From 7-11 a.m. at the practice fields of North Oconee High, NOHS and Oconee County High students will be performing to raise money and awareness in support of clean water projects in Africa.
