Oconee Today -- March 29

A fundraiser for a local library, a glee clubs concert, and 2 government meetings are just a few of the events going on in and near Oconee today.

1. Rain clouds will give Oconee a break today.  Partly cloudy skies are in the Weather Channel's forecast for the area, with highs expected to be in the low 60s.

2. Today is the opening day of the "Graduating Art Students" Art Exhibit at Gainesville State College. The display will be in the Roy C. Moore Art Gallery located inside the CE/PA/Business Building of the Gainesville Campus.  A formal reception for the exhibition will take place on April 28.

3. Are you a fan of the TV show Glee?  Come out and hear real Glee Clubs in action at the University of Georgia tonight. It starts at 8:00 p.m. in the Hodgson Concert Hall.

4. A percentage of proceeds from Chick-Fil-A on Epps Bridge Parkway from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight will directly benefit the children's section of the Oconee County Library.

5. The Oconee County Board of Commissioners hold an agenda-setting meeting this evening at 7 p.m. at the Oconee County Courthouse. The council of the Town of North High Shoals meets at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was rescheduled after being postponed last week because of lack of a quorum, councilman Steve Holzman noted in a blog.
