Oconee Today -- March 21

Another pollen alert has been issued for the area.

 

Weather: Once again very warm temperatures are in the forecast.  The Weather Channel predicts highs in the low to mid 80s and mostly sunny skies.  A pollen alert continues for the area.

Top things to know:

  • Do you suffer from allergies? The Weather Channel offers tips for treatments to help you get through the season.  See more.
  • The Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department is holding a 10 a.m. press conference at Oconee Veterans Park to make an announcement about plans for a July 4 celebration.  Check back with Oconee Patch later today.
  • UGA students and alumni may participate in the Journalism and Mass Communication Career Fair at the Tate Student Center from 1:30-4 p.m.  Bring copies of resumes and dress for success.
  • Fans of "The Hunger Games" series will no doubt want to celebrate the upcoming release of the feature film by spending this evening at a craft party.  The Oconee County Library is hosting a free event for teens (ages 11-18) and supplying all the necessary materials to design T-shirts, magnets, and other goodies.  It starts at 6 p.m.
  • A Zumbatomic® fitness class takes place at Whole: Mind. Body. Art in Athens at 6:30 p.m.  The class is designed for kids 4-12 and the fee per child is $6.
