Oconee Today -- March 18

A bridal show, reptile exhibit and art tour are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

 

Weather: Another chance of scattered thunderstorms is in the Weather Channel forecast for today.  Expect a mix of clouds and sun and highs in the mid 80s.  The possibilty of storms continues overnight.

Top things to know:

  • If you're planning outdoor activities at local parks, please keep in mind Herman C. Michael Park Field 4 is closed for maintenance today, according to the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department.
  • From noon until 5 p.m., Put a Ring On It will be holding a bridal show in Athens at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center.  Admission at the door is as follows: $20.00 for the bride and groom, $15.00 for general admission and free for kids 10 and under.  See more.
  • Bear Hollow Zoo in Memorial Park in Athens from 1 to 4 p.m. will host an exhibt where visitors can tour a variety of amphibian, reptilian and invertebrate displays. Admission is free.
  • Take a tour of the Georgia Museum of Art from 3-4 p.m. and see highlights from the permanent collection. Meet in the lobby to join the group.
