Observances: June 8 is "Best Friends Day" so take some time to stop and appreciate your best friends. Whether you have one or several best friends today is a day to honor and cherish the relationship.

  • Multi-Family Yard Sale in Lane Creek Neighborhood
    Everybody loves a yard sale and this sounds like a big one. Stop in at 1201 Club Drive in Bishop today from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and find a treasure. There will be furniture, sports equipment, baby items, electronics and more. Participating houses will be marked by balloons.
  • Bike Safety Rodeo
    The Oconee County Library is hosting a Bike Safety Rodeo beginning at noon in Watkinsville. This event will feature bike safety tips, helmet fitting checks and a special time for riders to demonstrate what they learn at the rodeo. The event is for riders of all ages.
  • Athens Community Theater Presents Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
    The Town and Gown Players at Athens Community Theater present "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Show times are June 8-10 and June 14-17, Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets prices range from $15 to $18, with a student special on Thursday for $10. Call 706-208-TOWN to reserve tickets.
