According to a report from The Inquisitr, the Pentagon has made a $1.3 million investment in the future of unmanned sewing machines, a project is intended to help the garment industry manufacture clothing and other items without the need for assembly line workers. Check out full information on the contract awarded to technology firm SoftwearAutomation to create a “numerically controlled sewing machine” capable of counting threads in fabric and then shifting each piece of garment automatically as stitches are applied via computer program.
