Oconee Today -- July 17

Rotary Club, a ribbon cutting, duplicate bridge and Oconee Wee-Read are a few of the things to know about as you start your day.

Weather: We'll see highs reach into the mid 90s once again and a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, according to the Weather Channel.  Overnight lows will dip into the low 70s.

Top things to know:

  • Rotary District Manager Margie Eddy-Forbes is the guest speaker at this morning's meeting of the Oconee Rotary Club.  She'll be presenting the 2012-2013 District 6910 Club Goals and Objectives.  The meeting begins at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center and includes a continental breakfast.  Guests are welcome at $5 a person.
  • All are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony for Oconee County Chamber of Commerce member Kevin Price Construction.  It takes place at 10 a.m. 3651 Mars Hill Road Suite 100 in Watkinsville.
  • Love a good game of duplicate bridge? Swing by the Watkinsville Community Center on VFW Drive on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. and join in the fun for just $4.
  • A percentage of sales at Taqueria La Parilla this evening from 5-9 will be donated to the Oconee Wee-Read program. Don't salsa and chips sound yummy?
