Have you seen Jupiter or Venus lately?

 

Weather: A mix of clouds and sun today with a high temperature around 60 degrees. Scattered showers are possible. Overnight lows will hover in the mid 50s, according to the Weather Channel.

Top things to know:

  • Today is the deadline to reserve tickets for the annual Oconee County Chamber of Commerce meeting and banquet on Jan. 26.  Tickets are $50 each or $380 for a table of 8. Contact the Chamber for more. 
  • If you're interested in applying for the full-time position as secretary in the Natural Resources Conservation Service office in Athens, your application must be submitted no later than today.
  • The University of Georgia hosts a blood drive in the Chicopee Complex, runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  
  • Though clouds and a chance of rain are in the evening's forecast, the UGA department of physics and astronomy will host a monthly observatory open house from 7-8 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Physics Building.Go for a chance to see Jupiter and Venus through a 24-inch telescope.
