"A Christmas Carol,"a chorus concert, and basketball are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.
Weather: The National Weather Service predicts sunshine and a high of 60 degrees today. Mainly clear skies are expected overnight with a low of around 40.
Top things to know:
- Every Tuesday the Rotary Club of Oconee County meets at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center for a continental breakfast and presentation. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.
- The UGA men's basketball team hosts mercer at 11 a.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.
- High school varsity basketball: NOHS travels to Morgan Co., OCHS heads to Hart Co. The girls play at 6 p.m. followed by the boys' games at 7:30 p.m.
- A holiday performance of "A Christmas Carol" takes place at CFES at 6:30 p.m. The school is collecting donations of unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

- Oconee County Middle School chorus holds a winter concert at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 7 p.m.
- Want to learn how to swing dance? DanceFX studio in Athens offers beginner and advanced classes for $5 each every Tuesday from starting at 7 p.m. A dance follows from 8-10 p.m.
