Oconee Today -- Aug. 6

A school board meeting, teen movie night and an audition for a local theatre's upcoming production are a few of the things to know today.

 

Weather: We'll see partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s as the work week gets under way, according to the Weather Channel.  There's a 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms.

Top things to know:

  • The Oconee County Board of Education meets at 4:30 p.m. for a work session. On the agenda is consideration of a millage rate levy of 17.5 mils for maintenance and operations and 1 mil for bonds.
  • Teens are invited to movie night at the Oconee County Library for a screening of "Footloose" starting at 6 p.m.
  • The monthly meeting of the Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission is slated for 7 p.m. in the Oconee County Government Annex.
