Oconee Today -- Aug. 14

A Rotary Club meeting, ribbon cutting and high school volleyball match are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee Today.

 

Weather: We'll see highs in the mid to upper 80s with a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms. The Weather Channel's forecast predicts lows overnight will drop into the upper 60s.

Top things to know:

  • Every Tuesday the Rotary Club of Oconee County meets at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center for a continental breakfast and presentation. Today's guest speaker is Michelle Rasmussen. She'll be speaking about the Salvation Army's Regional Resource Development. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.
  • Join the ambassadors of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce for a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony at HealthSource of Oconee.  The business is located at 1592 Mars Hill Road Suite B in Watkinsville.
  • All are invited to play duplicate bridge at the Watkinsville Community Center every Tuesday at 1 p.m.  Cost is $4.  The group also meets on Fridays.
  • The NOHS JV and varsity volleyball teams host Morgan and East Jackson for matches starting at 5 p.m. Go Titans!
