Weather: The work week comes to a close with highs in the mid to upper 80s and a 30 percent chance of a scattered thunderstorm. The Weather Channel predicts temperatures will drop into the mid 60s overnight.

- Westminster Christian Academy students head back to school today. It's the start of the 2012-12 school year.
- Senior citizens will get a taste of Hawaii at a luau at the Oconee County Senior Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear festive clothing and come prepared to dance, play games, eat and have fun!
- Geneology 101:The Basics is offered at the Oconee County Library from 12:30 - 2 p.m. Registration is required.
- The Oconee County High School Lady Warrior varsity softball team travels to Madison County for a 7 p.m. game. The North Oconee Lady Titans also play an away game. They take on Providence Christian Academy.
- The one and only Willie Nelson comes to Athens for an 8 p.m. performance at the Classic Center Theatre. Tickets may be purchased online.
