Winds will be calmer today. Find out what else there is to know.
1. Frost is expected in the early morning hours, the National Weather Service reports. There will be a lot of sunshine and highs in the low 70s. Winds will be much calmer today.
2. A group of University of Georgia students is taking a stand against texting while driving. As part of the College of Public Health's recognition of National Public Health Week, students will hand out lollipops with a note attached that reads “Don’t be a Dum Dum, Stop texting while driving!”
3. The 16th Annual Southworks Exhibition, curated by Phaedra Siebert and Jim Collins, is currently on display at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation. It is open to the public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays.
4. In sports news, the North Oconee High School Titans baseball team hosts Jefferson at 5:55 p.m.
5. Area churches hold a number of activities on Wednesday nights. Here are just a few examples:
- Mars Hill Baptist Church- Bible Study at 6:30 p.m.
- St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church- Pray the Liturgies of the Ancient Church at 6:00pm
- New Life Apostolic Church- Lifetime Worship and teaching for all ages at 7 p.m.
