Oconee Sheriff's Office Crime Report
A highlight of incidents reported during the week of April 29- May 5.
The following information was gathered from Oconee County Jail booking reports and Oconee County Sheriff's Office incident reports:
- After a manhunt on May 5, Kirk Devin Bray, 38, of 414 Pelican Circle in Woodbine, Georgia was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related paraphernalia, and obstruction of an officer. Sheriff Scott Berry said in a news release that Bray was wanted in at least 7 counties on various charges. The Athens Banner-Herald reported Saturday that he allegedly ran a chop shop in Cherokee County.
- On May 4, Christopher Alan Poss, 41, of 20 Stone Creek Drive in Hull was arrested and charged with 5 counts each of financial card and ID fraud.
- Rex M. Johnson, 59, of 1111 Echo Trail was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane on May 3.
- On May 3, Timothy Richard Searcy, 39, of 1111 Brookshire Drive was arrested and charged with battery.
- Jennifer Farabee Sears, 45, of 3180 Monroe Highway Lot 2 was arrested and charged with battery on May 2.
- On May 2, Billy Ray Craft, 58, 3180 Monroe Highway Lot 2 was arrested and charged with battery.
- Kyle Dewayne Whittaker, 22, of 400 Frazier Hill Road was booked at the Oconee County Jail on charges of DUI, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, and driving too fast for conditions.
- Sridevi Anduri, 27, of 110 International Drive Apartment 118 in Athens was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting on May 2.
- On May 2, Rajani Gourishetty, 26, of 110 International Drive Apartment 118 in Athens was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting.
- Lori Ann Wise, 42, of 1120 Moreland Drive Lot 10 was arrested and charged with DUI and driving while unlicensed on May 2.
- John Lee Johnson, 35, of 20 Inglescott Way in Alexander, North Carolina was charged with deposit account fraud.
- On April 29, Ieshia Deneen Ross, 18, of 208 Jefferson Street in Statham was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception.
- Sometime between noon on April 29 and 3:50 p.m on May 1, a resident told deputies that a red 6x10 trailer with wooden standards and no rear gate and a green Bobcat lawn mower were stolen from 2390 Greensboro Highway. The items are valued at $7,800.
