Oconee Sheriff's Office to Offer Free Gun Safety Classes

Sessions in the classroom and on the range will take place in March.

 

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is offering a series of free firearms safety classes.  Classes are not restricted to Oconee residents, but they will be given priorty.

Classroom sessions will be held on the following Thursdays from 7-9 p.m.:

  • March 7
  • March 14
  • March 21
  • March 28

Once a classroom session is completed, you may attend a session at the range. Meet at the Sheriff's Office at 9 a.m. to head to the range on one these Saturdays:

  • March 9
  • March 16
  • March 23
  • March 30

The response to these classes has been amazing. We initially announced four classes. They filled up in two days. We added two more classes, and they filled up within 45 minutes of the announcement. We will try to schedule more classes.
