Jim Mayes, 67, of Loganville and detective with the Walton County Sheriff's Office, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
Jim Mayes, age 67 of Loganville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Loganville. Pastor Ronnie Kendall & Pastor Jimmy Wilson will officiate. Burial Corinth Memorial Gardens, Loganville. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all, Mr. Mayes was a member and faithful Greeter with Guest Services at First Baptist Church of Loganville. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Mayes was a retired Detective with the DeKalb County Police Department with 25 years of service and was presently working with the Walton County Sheriff Department.
Mayes is survived by his wife of 39 years: Claudine Phillips Mayes, Loganville; Children: Cristye & James Moon, Sean & Carla Mayes, Stacy Mayes, all of Monroe; Mother-in-law: Evelyn Phillips, Covington; Brothers & Sister-in-law: Thom & Dianne Mayes, Demorest; Craig Mayes, Stone Mountain; Grandchildren: Shelby, Jordan & Evan Moon, Conner Mayes; Many Nieces & Nephews.
