Naked Man Reportedly Found Dancing in the Streets Faces Charges

The 36-year-old Watkinsville resident is charged in Oconee County, Ga. with public indecency and public drunkenness. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

Oconee County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday arrested a Watkinsville man in connection with an incident Sunday in which he had reportedly been dancing naked in the roadway.

According to an incident report, deputies found the man in the intersection of Arrowhead Road and Etowah Court around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 9.

A deputy wrote in the report that the man "had a chalky, white buildup in the corners of his mouth, ground his teeth, displayed constant twitching and involuntary movement, constricted pupils, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, and inability to tell me what day and time it was."

Deputies say the man admitted he'd taken medication earlier in the day and consumed two beers.  He was transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment and warrants were later taken out in his name.

Leon O'Neil Fava, 36, was booked into the Oconee County Jail on Dec. 12, charged with public indecency and public drunkenness. He was released the same day on a $1,200 bond.

While on the scene Sunday, deputies say a 27-year-old Watkinsville woman was also displaying signs of being impaired by an unknown substance.  The woman also had a chalky, white substance in the corner of her mouth, according to the deputy's report, and her demeanor fluctuated.

A K-9 alerted deputies to possible drugs inside the woman's vehicle, which were determined to be prescriptions in the woman's name inside her purse, according to the report.  The deputy reported the woman told him she had taken roughly four times her prescribed amount of medication that day.

During the search of the vehicle, deputies say they also found checks in a family member's name that they believe the woman attempted to forge.

Rachael Skipper was charged with public drunkenness and forgery in the 3rd degree. She was released Monday on a $3,000 bond, according to jail records.
