Last fall, Athens Academy was pleased to host the District 6910 Interact Conference. As part of the meeting, volunteers from all over Northeast Georgia packaged 10,000 meals for needy families as part of the Stop Hunger Now service event. Those meals were shipped to Mission Touch Ministries in Zambia, where they helped feed hundreds of children through school feeding programs and in orphanages.

Kyle Galenski, program manager for Stop Hunger Now, was grateful for Athens Academy's participation.

"I can't thank you enough for your partnership in packaging these meals and spreading awareness about world hunger," he said. " This shipment would not have been possible without your support. Thank you for a taking an active role in the fight against world hunger and I look forward to continuing our partnership to create a world without hunger."

Mission Touch is a non-profit that provides aid to many schools and orphanages in Zambia, feeding over 6,000 children on a daily basis around the capital city of Lusaka.
