In a touching ceremony, beloved educator and administrator Martha Brodrick Monday was honored posthumously as a 2012 inductee into the Oconee County Schools Hall of Fame.

As family and friends looked on, colleagues remembered Brodrick and the countless contributions she made during her lifelong career.

"Oconee County and our school system are better because of Martha," said former Superintendent Debra Harden. "She touched many lives, and in my estimation her legacy will last for generations of children." Watch the video for ceremony highlights.

Husband Joel said he appreciated the gesture.

"To have her recognized as an outstanding educator is just beautiful," he said.

Brodrick passed away in January 2012 following a brief battle with cancer.

Joining Brodrick as an inductee into the Hall of Fame this year was retired English teacher Roger Bailey.
