A traffic stop in Oconee County Monday led to the arrest of an Atlanta woman who faces at least a dozen counts of identity theft-related charges, according to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.

Corporal Clark Sparrow pulled over the driver of a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Jimmy Daniel and Virgil Langford roads around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 28 for a suspended vehicle registration, according to a news release.

"[The driver] appeared to be nervous beyond that which is normal on a traffic stop, and she also gave conflicting answers to questions asked of her to include statements believed to be false concerning military service on her part," the release stated.

Angela Davida Miller, 32, of Madison Drive in Atlanta, was taken into custody on charges of driving on a suspended license and suspended vehicle registration, and her car was towed.

While conducting an inventory of the car, Sparrow and Deputy Kendall White reportedly found "a printer, voided checks, mail in the name of other parties, a 'burn bucket', and computer equipment."

The documents pointed to a trail of identity theft victims from multiple states, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Though no one from Oconee County has been identified as a victim, there are victims from other parts of Georgia, as well as from Alabama and Tennessee and possibly from other states, Chief Deputy Lee Weems said.

Miller has so far been charged with nine counts of identity fraud, one count of printing, executing or negotiating checks, and one count of defraud,  jail records confirmed.

Additional charges are expected, Weems said.
