How Do You Plan to Spend Memorial Day?
Barbecues and beach trips are great, but that's not what makes this holiday important. What do you have planned for this day of remembrance?
Memorial Day is more than just time off from work and the beginning of summer- it's a chance to commemorate those who have sacrificed their lives in the country's service.
Locally there are a number of events and services planned offering folks the opportunity to observe the holiday together.
Do you know anyone who has served and lost friends? Are you a veteran whose thoughts are with the memory of a fellow soldier who fell on foreign soil?
Please share your thoughts, plans or memories of those who were lost to war in the comments section below.

I spent today riding the Ride For America salute to the military. The approx. 600 motorcycles left the American Legion Loganville Post #233 at 9:30....traveled to Madison where there was as moving tribute to all the military past and present.....and then rode back to spend some time with all the riders at the Legion. It's the 14th year this ride has taken place. It is always an emotional day honoring those that gave the ultimate sacrifice and those that live to tell the tale.
