UPDATE: Very soon after Patch left about 4 p.m., Racetrac at 7921 Macon Hwy changed the price to $3.25/gallon. Employees say that they were so busy all day with customers that they didn't have a chance to change it earlier.
The average price of gas jumped 6 cents overnight to a $3.287, according to the motorist group AAA. CNN money reported that oil prices spiked 9 percent over a one week period. What does that mean for the Oconee County area? Patch takes a look at some local prices to keep in mind when filling up your tank.
CHEAPEST GAS: $3.15 Racetrac 7921 Macon Hwy, Watkinsville
As of 3:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, Racetrac 7921 Macon Hwy was selling the cheapest regular unleaded gas. Now, it is up to $3.25, and several gas stations tie for the lowest price. Here is a list of other regular unleaded prices in the area:
