VIDEO First-ever Oconee July 4th Spectacular to Include Fireworks and Parade
Local businesses and organizations are teaming up with departments of Oconee County government to hold a July 4th celebration unlike ever before in the county.
With sparklers in hand, representatives of Ellis Pain Center, the Oconee County Recreation Department, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Office of Tourism and Board of Commissioners gathered at Oconee Veterans Park Wednesday morning to celebrate the announcement of the Oconee July 4th Spectacular.
The event promises to be fun and family-friendly and will include fireworks and a parade, co-sponsored by The Oconee Enterprise and Rotary Club of Oconee County. The Chamber of Commerce is also supporting the evening's festivities.
Activities organized by the Office of Tourism that in past years took place in downtown Watkinsville are also moving to Oconee Veterans Park. They will include performances by local musicians, a watermelon eating contest, a popcorn giveaway, lemonade stands, coloring contests, kid’s inflatables, a rock climbing wall and a dunking booth.
The fireworks display, presented by Ellis Pain Center in commemoration of their 10th Anniversary in business, will be the highlight of the evening.

I'm really looking forward to this! Last year we drove to Auburn. It's fantastic that there will be such a grand celebration right here at home!
