Jammed with action and emotion, this is the only film in the series that is in 3D and its worth it. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" neatly wraps up the young wizard's life as he faces his destiny. Eight films and 10 years later (with most of your favorite characters coming back), this final chapter may even leave you a bit misty eyed if you are not careful.
In this final installment of the blockbuster series, Harry, Ron and Hermione (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson) continue their mission to destroy the rest of the seven Horcruxes that contain pieces of the soul of the evil Lord Voldemort (played by Ralph Fiennes). You don't need to be a "Potterphile" to enjoy this movie, but "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" does offer some long-promised answers for those familiar to the story. It also dares to pose some eternal questions that will stick with you long after the final chapter has closed.
Thanks to J.K. Rowling's books, millions already know what's at stake in Part 2, but those who don't know, don't worry -- there are no spoilers here. Many people have said that it was a greed based decision to stretch the final book into two films. I don't think so. Spreading the action over two films means this second half doesn't feel overstuffed or overlong. In fact, its the shortest film in the series at just over two hours. The acting, the special effects, the story -- it's all good.
Harry wrestles with his obligations as a wizard and a man now, as death and destruction cave in on him from all sides. As a result, his performance -- and this film -- create some beautiful movie magic.
The flick-o-meter has no problem giving "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows : Part 2" a five out of five. It is a great end to to a great series. Part 2 leaves you with a sense of satisfaction just like you would have after having a good meal with friends. Harry Potter has grown up and moved on, and you along with him. A wonderful ending for the once boy-wizard. So now you know before you go. See you at the movies!
