Fight Lands Seven in Jail
Seven men were booked into the Oconee County Jail Saturday on charges of disorderly conduct after a fight outside of Pinewood Estates South mobile home park. An arrest does not mean a conviction.
Seven men were taken into custody and drugs and a gun were seized outside of Pinewood South mobile home park on Epps Bridge Road Saturday morning, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies report.
When they arrived on the scene around 12:30 a.m., deputies say they saw the men in the middle of a confrontation. Three of the men ran toward a white Chevy Impala and the other four attempted to run in another direction but were stopped by a deputy near the entrance of the park.
Once the men were detained, deputies searched the area and vehicles for a gun that had reportedly been shot several times.
A bag containing marijuana was found in a green Ford Mustang and the car was towed due to no valid insurance, according to the report.
Underneath the Impala, a deputy said he found a .25 caliber handgun wrapped in a white shirt with one bullet in the chamber and an empty magazine. Found inside the car in the passenger's door were two small bags containing cocaine, according to the report. The Impala was towed because it was blocking the entrance of the park and it was registered to someone who wasn't present.
Fabian Carlos Bodie, 20, of Plantation Drive in Bogart; Jose Casas, 21, of Overlook Ridge Road in Bishop; and Gary David Brewer, 22, of Epps Bridge Parkway in Athens were charged with possession of cocaine. Brewer was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Additionally the Bodie, Casas and Brewer were charged with disorderly conduct along with Oscar Zarco, 22, of Commerce Road in Athens; Jorge Bahema, 18, of Oak Grove Road in Athens,; Arturo Bahema, 21, of Westchester Lane in Athens; and Leroy Martinez, 19, of Pepper Ridge in Athens.
