Drew Brady: A Player with the Right Attitude

At just 11-years-old, Drew Brady has already learned that the key to success is having the right attitude and a strong work ethic.

Having the right attitude and putting forth the right amount of effort are key components in achieving success.

Drew Brady, an 11-year-old student, is applauded by coaches for not only his tremendous athleticism, but also his dependable positive mentality and always giving 100 percent.

“Besides his obvious talent, the things that I love about Drew are his attitude and work ethic,” his coach, Darron Britt said. “He is a quiet kid that shows up to practice with a positive attitude ready to go to work.”

Drew has been playing baseball for seven years, four with the Oconee County Little League and the past three with the traveling team the Georgia Redbirds.

The hard work is paying off as Drew channeled his favorite player, Red Sox slugger David “Big Papi” Ortiz, in a recent tournament going 9 for 11 from the plate with four home runs, one in the championship game.

“We won the championship in the tournament…and Drew played a big part in it,” Britt said.

A versatile player, Drew plays both second base and center field, with hitting being his strength, according to Andy Brady, Drew’s father and coach.

Drew’s efficacious attitude also makes him the ultimate teammate as he is respectful of each of the other players and likes to see them succeed.

“He is a great team player…and this in turn makes him a better player at whatever sport he plays,” Brady said.

Drew also plays basketball and football.

Carrying his productive mindset to the gridiron, Drew helped his recreation league football team win the championship as starting tailback and linebacker.

Drew’s understanding of the importance of a good attitude and hard work has paid off and will certainly continue to make him a successful, standout athlete.
