Oconee residents shared their opinion on the elections with Oconee Patch after the forum.

Resident Harry Thompson said he thought the forum went well, but no candidates stood out to him.

"Over all it was very informatie," Thompson said. "I did get some of the differences of opinion with the different candidates, and some idea of who I'm not voting for."

Resident Jane Wood said the forum went well, but was underattended.

"It was better than I thought it would be," Wood said. "Since it was the first in Oconee County I think more people will show up for the other forums. I wish there had been more people here."

The forum is still ongoing. We'll continue to post photos and look for more detailed coverage of each office with video over the next couple of days.

I did not witness this. Did you see something?

Stephanie ..... I was so impressed with the friendly rapport shown between Tammy Gilland and Mark Saxon each running for the same Commission seat.
Tammy said (paraphrased) "We both grew up with 4-H and they say - once you are green, you are always green."

And Mark said (paraphrased): "We are good friends and we are both well qualified and we'll just let the voters decide who to put in office."

How refreshing.

Kate,
I agree. I'll be posting a story about the BOC Post 4 race sometime over the next couple of days.

I'm sure you took some great photos! Please feel free to share a couple by uploading them here!
