Commerce Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Offenses in Banks County, Now Faces Charges of Rape and Aggravated Child Molestation in Oconee

Michael Patrick Brock, 42, was transferred from the Banks County Jail on Friday.

A Commerce man was booked into the Oconee County Jail Friday on charges of aggravated child molestation and rape.

Michael Patrick Brock, 42, is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old girl while house sitting for friends at an Oconee residence in September 2009, Chief Deputy Lee Weems said. Additional details were not released because of the nature of the alleged incident and the fact that the victim was a juvenile at the time.

Sheriff Scott Berry said Brock was transferred from the Banks County Jail after he reached a plea agreement with prosecutors on separate charges in that county.

On Feb. 3, Brock pleaded guilty to two counts of statutory rape and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 20 years of consecutive probation, according to court documents on file at the Banks County Clerk of Superior Court's office.
