Bray Remains in Oconee Jail
Charges rack up for Kirk Devin Bray, an alleged truck thief wanted in multiple counties.
There are more charges against a Woodbine man accused of stealing a truck, crashing it into another vehicle causing injuries, and fleeing the scene.
After additional charges were filed by Georgia State Patrol troopers this week, Kirk Devin Bray, 38, now faces two counts of theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by taking, criminal trespass, aggravated assault, two counts of obstruction of an officer, hit and run, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and driving on the wrong side of the road, according to booking reports.
The charges he faces are in connection with last week's incident near the Oconee Connector.
Bray is wanted in at least 8 counties on a slew of criminal charges, and is also suspected of running a chop shop in Cherokee County, authorities told the Athens Banner-Herald.
"We've got him right now and we're gonna keep him, at least until we've finished the investigation," he said. "We have no intention of moving him anytime soon."
Bray is currently being represented by the public defender's office, Berry said.
