Berry Tapped As President of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association
Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry was sworn in as the 2011-2012 President of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association on July 20.

During the annual Summer Training Conference, Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry was sworn in as the 2011-2012 President of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association.
Former Western Judicial Circuit Superior Court and current U.S. District Court Judge Steve Jones administered the oath of office July 20, Chief Deputy Lee Weems reported on Facebook.
Berry had served as the 1st Vice President for 2010-2011.
This year the conference was held July 18-20 in Stone Mountain.
The Georgia Sheriffs' Association --with a mission of enhancing public safety through the promotion of the Office of the Sheriff, according to the organization's website-- is comprised of sheriffs from the state's 159 counties and tens of thousands of Honorary Members who offer support through donations.
The Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes program is just one of the many services provided by the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, which was founded in 1957.

The conversations that I have had with Scott Berry have left me with nothing but praise for him. He has been kind, compassionate, caring and professional. I have felt heard and respected. Oconee County is lucky to have him. Thank you Scott for all you do.
