Athens Academy Headmaster To Retire at End of 2012-13 School Year
Bob Chambers has served the school for three decades.
At the close of the 2012-13 school year, Bob Chambers will step down as headmaster of Athens Academy.
Chambers notified the school's Board of Trustees about his decision to retire earlier this month, The Oconee Enterprise reports.
A search committee is being formed to look for Chambers' replacement, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Gene Howard told the newspaper.
According to the Athens Banner-Herald, Chambers made the announcement now in order for the Board to have sufficient time to hire his successor.
