The Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports Princess the pony has been reunited with her family.

A pony found wandering at Herman C. Michael Park last Thursday has been reunited with her rightful owner -- a 5-year-old girl.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, the pony was in the care of a local resident until her owner could be located. Fox 5 News reports that resident is a volunteer fireman.

On the morning of Jan. 3, the pony's photo was posted on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page, and by 6 p.m. a new photo was added with the good news that Princess would be going home.

The pony was a Christmas gift for the little girl.

Watch the reunion here.
