Alleged Child Molestation Reported to Oconee County Sheriff's Office

The abuse reportedly occurred about seven or eight years ago.

A woman on Jan. 18 stopped by the Oconee County Sheriff's Office to report an alleged child molestation.

She told deputies that her adopted 15-year-old daughter had recently confided to her that she'd been the victim of molestation.  The crime reportedly occurred seven or eight years ago, around the time the girl was in third grade, according to an incident report.

The case has been assigned to an investigator and the Department of Family and Children Services has been notified.
